‘Protest Signs’ is a series of situational objects or props that are re-contextualized, functioning in the area between political theory, art and activism, responding to current events.
The material of the art object is often a protest banner the artist uses in a public participatory situation, then it is used as an origin object that gets transformed and repurposed in to a piece that occupies the art context. It might be also an object that only gets used on the public activist space, or a piece that is a response to a political situation, being often a transformed appropriation of an already used slogan.
The protest signs looks to create a public dialogue of currents events, and how we look at them through slogans and images. The artist is interested in making these props of alternative anti-authoritarian schooling spaces.
